Gerrit Cole has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball this season, and he has firmly placed himself in the thick of the Cy Young Award race with a 2.87 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) and 34.7% strikeout rate.

He may have his hands full tonight, though, with an Oakland Athletics offense that has been pretty stellar as well. Against right-handed pitching in 2018, the A's check in seventh in team weighted on-base average (wOBA) at .328, and they are the 10th-toughest to strike out at 21.5%.

This is a massive AL West tilt, and it pits an explosive offense against one of the best pitchers in the game. Given this volatility, it may be wise to spend elsewhere tonight.
