Francisco Liriano, tonight's starter for the Detroit Tigers, hasn't been all that great in 2018. He's recorded an ugly 5.34 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), and he's striking out hitters at only an 18.1% clip.

Tonight, he gets the benefit of facing a Chicago Cubs lineup that's majorly slumping, as they've scored only a single run in each of their last five losses. Interestingly, they have also performed very poorly against southpaws in 2018, recording a 32.6% hard-hit rate (24th) and ranking 25th in fly-ball rate (32.1%).

Rostering Liriano is a dangerous proposition, but with a Cubs lineup hitting the skids, tonight isn't a bad opportunity to take a gamble.
