3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 8/16/18

It's no secret that Julio Teheran struggles against lefty bats, but people don't typically roster the Colorado Rockies too often on the road, And they ought to go lower-owned than tonight's top offenses in the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, and Toronto Blue Jays.

But this is a nice value we're getting for Carlos Gonzalez, who may be more effective at Coors but still holds a promising 38.6% hard-hit rate and 36.2% fly-ball rate versus righties. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Teheran is posting miserable numbers against lefties, as usual, displaying an 18.5% strikeout rate and 18.1% walk rate, while allowing a 42.1% hard-hit rate and .371 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA).

Although Charlie Blackmon is sadly out of the lineup tonight, between Gonzalez, David Dahl ($2,300), and perhaps even Gerardo Parra ($2,300), there's merit to loading up on left-handed Rockies as a potential contrarian stack.
