With a middle of the road 4.45 implied team total against left-hander Austin Gomber, the Washington Nationals aren't a team most folks are likely to be paying up for when popular offenses like the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians are in good spots.

But Gomber has only put together a 4.75 SIERA, 19.6% strikeout rate, and 11.3% walk rate over 31 1/3 innings between the bullpen and rotation, so this is definitely a matchup the Nationals could do some damage in. He's also allowing a 37.1% hard-hit rate with just a 35.6% ground-ball rate, which boosts the chances of knocking a few out of the ball park.

On a relatively shallow night at third base, Anthony Rendon is particularly intriguing, posting a 45.1% hard-hit rate, 50.7% fly-ball rate, and .465 expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) against southpaws. He makes for an excellent pivot off the pricey Jose Ramirez.
