Tonight, the Los Angeles Angels get a plus matchup against left-hander Brett Anderson, who's only mustered a 4.84 SIERA and 11.4% strikeout rate across nine starts this. But with Mike Trout hitting the DL this afternoon, and a modest implied team total (4.16) in a west coast game, most folks will pass over this spot.

Therefore, it's a good opportunity to roster Justin Upton, who remains affordable and carries plenty of upside against southpaws.

On the season, Upton is producing a 47.7% hard-hit rate against lefties this season, and he owns a career .374 wOBA and .236 isolated power (ISO) in the platoon split. He was off to a slow start to the month, but has now slugged home runs in back-to-back games.
