Freddie Freeman, 1B, Atlanta Braves

Seeing a lefty-on-lefty matchup is usually enough to scare away most people, but Freddie Freeman versus Jason Vargas is not one we should be scared of. For starters, Vargas is allowing a .409 wOBA to lefties and has given three homers in just 11.1 innings in the split. He's also walked six in that span, and his 8.36 overall ERA indicates he's going to give up some runs today.

Freeman certainly isn't your typical left-handed hitter, as he has just as many home runs (9) against southpaws as he does against righties -- and in almost half of the plate appearances. His .268 ISO against lefties also outpaces his mark against righties (.187), and he's produced a solid 39.6% hard-hit rate in the split.

On top of all that, Freeman is unlikely to be popular. With several aces toeing the rubber, salary is going to be thin, and most rosters certainly aren't going to have the most expensive first baseman with a platoon disadvantage. If you want to be different, start by plugging in the Braves' slugger.
