5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 7/27/18
Filling in for Anthony Rendon, Mark Reynolds provides big pop at a minimal cost. What other low-cost hitters should you target on Friday?

Josh Harrison, 2B, Pittsburgh Pirates

Price: $2,700

The New York Mets will be starting southpaw Jason Vargas tonight, leaving the Pittsburgh Pirates with a strong 4.90 implied total.

Vargas has a 4.74 SIERA over 9 starts in 2018, which is right in line with his shaky 4.86 from 2017. He's another guy allowing a career-high hard-hit rate, at 37.4%. He has been particularly bad against right-handed bats over the last two years, allowing a .338 wOBA and 4.75 xFIP, giving a big boost to Josh Harrison's fantasy value.

Harrison is nothing special from the dish, but he's making some terrific contact against southpaws this year, with a 39.2% hard-hit rate, 15.7% soft-hit rate and 41.2% fly-ball rate. He also projects to bat leadoff, which is a great spot for fantasy production in an offense projected to score as much as the Pirates.
