3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 7/11/18

Chris Davis has gotten some tentative love here the past couple weeks, but it's really looking like his power is back. Since he took a 10-day break in June to work on his swing, Davis is suddenly sporting a 40.5% hard-hit rate and 54.1% fly-ball rate against righties, which has led to a more characteristic .283 isolated power (ISO). Sure, we're only talking about 58 plate appearances, and he's still striking out at a 27.6% clip in the platoon split, but this is beginning to look like a guy we can target in tournaments again.

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles face Sonny Gray, who's only mustered a 5.85 ERA this year, and failed to reach three innings in his last two starts. Against lefties, Gray is allowing a 39.5% hard-hit rate with just an 18.8% strikeout rate and 12.2% walk rate. On a night where we want to pay up for Chris Sale, Davis makes for a nice tournament punt in a potentially underrated matchup.
