5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 6/19/18
Despite a poor start to 2018, Adam Duvall offers big value against Matt Boyd and the Tigers tonight. What other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Tuesday's slate?

Joey Gallo, OF, Texas Rangers

Price: $3,000

Joey Gallo has really been struggling, with an ugly .275 wOBA for the month of June. This has his price tag nice and low, though, meaning that it doesn't really capture the upside he offers on a nightly basis.

Even in this unproductive couple of weeks, he has an absurd 70.0% hard-hit rate with a 10.0% soft-hit and 42.1% fly-ball rate. Over the entire season, he is up to a 48.3% hard-hit and 52.4% fly-ball rate with a 10.9% soft-hit rate, and he ranks 3rd in average exit velocity among hitters with at least 50 batted balls. When he's up against right-handed pitching, this has translated to a .261 isolated slugging (ISO) and 13 homers.

He also draws a plus matchup tonight against Kansas City Royals righty Jason Hammel, who has opened 2018 with a 4.78 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA). Hammel has an especially poor 5.24 xFIP while allowing a 48.1% hard-hit and 48.5% fly-ball rate to left-handed bats, so target Gallo at this price.
