Giancarlo Stanton, OF, New York Yankees

Price: $4,200

We have only one pitcher priced north of $8,500 tonight, and that is Tampa Bay southpaw Blake Snell, who is up against a New York Yankees squad that boasts Thursday's highest implied total (4.68). So that leaves us with no real stud pitching options on Thursday's four-game main slate, meaning you can afford to spend up on your bats. So let's skip right past pitching with today's studs.

Snell has been very solid this season, despite the high implied total against him. His 3.48 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is a good mark, and even though his career SIERA sits at only 4.33, 14 games in 2018 is a decent sample-size. He's still allowing some strong contact, though, giving up career-highs in both hard-hit rate (33.3%) and fly-ball rate (38.9%), and as I mentioned, the Yanks' implied total is the day's highest.

Giancarlo Stanton hasn't lived up to the hype in his first season in New York, thanks largely to a touch more than 75% of his plate appearances having come against right-handed pitching. In 67 plate appearances against southpaws, he has an absolutely monstrous 61.4% hard-hit rate to go with a 13.6% soft-hit rate and 38.6% fly-ball rate. This has translated to a huge .487 wOBA and .441 isolated slugging (ISO) in the split.

That's still a fairly small sample size, but if we expand our view back to include 2017 (223 plate appearances), we continue to see ridiculous numbers, with a .482 wOBA and .441 ISO. Even against a strong lefty like Snell, Stanton has incredible upside tonight.
