5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 6/8/18
Despite a slow start to 2018, Josh Reddick is primed to produce against Doug Fister and the Rangers. What other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Friday?

Dexter Fowler, OF, St. Louis Cardinals

Price: $2,800

Dexter Fowler has not been producing well this year, but a big part of that can be attributed to a poor .203 batting average on balls in play (BABIP). For comparison's sake, he posted a career-worst .305 BABIP last year, and he has a .333 career-average.

Fowler's soft-hit rate is only 1.8% worse than his career-average, while his 37.0% hard-hit rate is on pace to be the second-highest of his career. Making strong contact like this, that low BABIP is likely just variance, and we can expect his production to pick up in a big way as we move forward.

His matchup tonight positions him well for a bounce-back, taking on righty Matt Harvey and the Reds. Harvey has shown some improvement from the 5.44 SIERA he posted in 2017, but his 4.40 clip in 2018 is still nothing to write home about. And his 39.3% hard-hit rate is on pace to be a career-high, while the 13.3% soft-hit rate he is forcing is his lowest since his 2012 rookie campaign.
