3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/24/18
Ryan Braun has long track record of success against lefties, giving him plenty of upside against Steven Matz. Which other budget-friendly hitters should you target on Thursday's three-game main slate?

Jay Bruce, OF, New York Mets

Price: $2,800

With only three games on a tap, we are hugely limited in value options, so a low implied total like the New York Mets' 3.87 mark doesn't take their offense out of consideration for daily fantasy.

Milwaukee Brewers righty Zach Davies represents a promising matchup for the Mets' offense. He has opened 2018 with a 4.57 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) over six games, which isn't much better than his 2017 clip of 4.72 and brings his career average to 4.43. Davies has been allowing huge contact with a 41.0% hard-hit and 10.5% soft-hit rate.

Jay Bruce has had a rough start to the season, but there's still reason to be interested in the left-hander tonight.

Bruce has always been significantly more productive against righties over his career (with a .348 wOBA against right-handers and a .308 wOBA versus lefties), which tends to leave him under-priced against right-handed hurlers. Bruce's 548 plate appearances against righties over the past two seasons have seen him notch a .356 wOBA and .246 isolated slugging (ISO) on a 39.7% hard-hit rate and 12.4% soft-hit rate. That gives him some nice upside here.
