Stephen Piscotty has not had a productive start to the season, but those struggles have only included 48 plate appearances against southpaws -- where he has done by far the best work of his career.

He's coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him blast southpaws for a big 47.9% hard-hit rate with a 12.5% soft-hit rate. His averages against lefties over his first three Major League seasons include a hefty .379 wOBA and a .205 isolated slugging (ISO) on a 34.0% hard-hit rate.

Today's matchup puts him in a good spot to turn his 2018 production around, taking on Seattle Mariners lefty Marco Gonzales. Gonzales has played in 20 Major League games over the past 2 seasons, allowing a huge .378 wOBA to right-handed bats in that time.
