5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/17/18
Andrew Triggs is allowing plenty of hard contact, giving Curtis Granderson gobs of upside tonight. Which other budget-friendly hitters should you target?

Matt Olson, 1B, Oakland Athletics

Price: $2,900

We don't have a ton of well-positioned offenses on tonight's main slate, but in a matchup with Toronto Blue Jays righty Aaron Sanchez, Oakland's 4.62 implied total makes for the slate's fourth-highest mark.

Matt Olson really has no business being this cheap when the A's are taking on a righty. Even with his slow start to 2018, Olson has clobbered right-handed pitching for a 51.6% hard-hit rate, 6.3% soft-hit rate and 40.6% fly-ball rate. This has translated to a solid .359 wOBA and .221 isolated slugging.

Mashing righties is nothing new for Olson. Among the 375 hitters who have notched at least 100 batted balls against righties since 2017, he ranks fourth in average exit velocity, boasting a huge .405 wOBA and .344 ISO in the split in that span.
