3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/30/18
Giancarlo Stanton has been heating up, but Charlie Morton is extremely tough on right-handed hitters. Which other players should you shy away from?

Giancarlo Stanton, OF, New York Yankees

After a very rough start to the season, Giancarlo Stanton has been heating up lately as the batting average has crept back up to a more palatable number at .239. Still, there appear to be at least some red flags, as Stanton's walk rate is in single-digits for the first time since 2010. This wouldn't be a concern if he wasn't also striking out more, as his strikeout rate is above 30.0% for the first time since 2010, as well.

Charlie Morton has been incredible as a member of the Houston Astros. He posted a 3.70 SIERA in 2017, and has a 3.19 SIERA so far this season. He has also been especially tough on right-handed hitters throughout his career. Morton has allowed righties to post a measly .303 wOBA in his career, and that includes a 22.6% fly-ball rate and 23.3% hard-hit rate.

Stanton isn't bad against right-handed pitching, posting a career 135 wRC+ in the split. Still, we would rather use him versus southpaws, against whom he has a career 171 wRC+, or right-handers who aren't so tough in righty-righty matchups.
