3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 4/26/18

With only four games tonight, it's not going to be easy to differentiate your tournament lineups without sacrificing upside. Pitching tends to be more predictable on a nightly basis than hitting, so sometimes it feels hazardous to stray off the beaten path.

In tonight's case, most lineups will flock towards Chris Sale and Dylan Bundy -- and rightfully so. Both pitchers have been excellent this season. But as we saw with Clayton Kershaw against the Miami Marlins last night, even a great pitcher in a great situation can falter on occasion.

For that reason, it's worth giving Chris Archer a look as arguably the distant third option among this evening's arms. As the 6.59 ERA suggests, Archer has been far from perfect this season, but he still has solid peripherals with a 3.83 SIERA and 24.2% strikeout rate. The strikeouts are low compared to last season (29.2%), but a 14.0% swinging-strike rate suggests that he hasn't lost anything in that department. Add in a matchup against the Baltimore Orioles, who possess a number of high-strikeout candidates and own the second-highest team strikeout rate (27.2%), and it's not inconceivable to see Archer having a big game.

Rolling with Archer will also open up the opportunity to stack up on your favorite bats, which could go a long way on a limited slate.
