Franchy Cordero, OF, San Diego Padres

FanDuel Price: $2,600

Any time we can sing the praises of Franchy Cordero, we can't help but oblige.

Matt Koch is making a spot start in place of the injured Taijuan Walker, and were he not facing the San Diego Padres, chances are the implied team total would be one of the highest on the slate. But instead, the Padres are getting just 4.11 implied runs against a guy who posted an 8.40 ERA and 11.6% strikeout rate over 10 starts in Triple-A last season. He's only logged 20 innings in the majors, and has a 4.60 career SIERA to show for it.

The low strikeout rate is what makes Cordero intriguing, as it lessens some of the risk that comes with his massive career 42.7% strikeout rate. But when he does make contact, it's generally of the good variety, as he owns a 45.6% career hard-hit rate, including a ridiculous 63.2% rate this season. Throw in some stealing potential as one of the fastest dudes in the league last year, and it's hard to not like the upside that comes with that.

The high strikeout rate probably takes Cordero out of cash game consideration, but keep him in mind as a tournament one-off. You might even consider a sneaky Padres stack against one of the weakest arms on the slate.
