Just looking at the starting pitchers in action on Thursday, Zack Greinke's 2.57 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) ranks second, his 29.2% strikeout rate ranks third and his 1.4% walk rate is first. Going back to 2017, he ranks second in the group in SIERA (3.48), second in strikeout rate (26.8%) and third in walk rate (5.6%).

His ERA sits at 5.29 through three starts this year, but with excellent peripheral numbers that mirror last season's marks, his ERA is likely to come down in a hurry.

Greinke draws a nice matchup tonight against San Francisco. The Giants have struck out at a top-10 rate (24.9%) against righties this season, while sitting in the middle of the pack with a 92 wRC+. Their 3.74 implied total is the second-lowest on the main slate, and Greinke is our top-projected pitcher by a significant margin.
