5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/17/18
Likely hitting near the top of the lineup against Sal Romano, Lorenzo Cain offers nice value. Which other low-priced batters should you target?

Evan Gattis, C, Houston Astros

Price: $2,500

The Houston Astros' offense is in a favorable spot against Seattle Mariners southpaw Ariel Miranda.

Miranda finished 2017 with a 4.93 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), which is the third-worst mark among starters on tonight's main slate, and he got tagged for three runs while walking three and only striking out two in four innings in a Triple-A start to open 2018.

Evan Gattis' 2018 season is also off to a slow start, but his 2017 numbers are a lot more encouraging than Miranda's. He hasn't been consistent from the dish, but he's shown plenty of pop, turning a 34.3% hard-hit and 42.5% fly-ball rate into a .207 isolated slugging (ISO).

Gattis is a low-floor option, struggling to the tune of a 30.9% strikeout rate this season, but his power gives him big-time upside relative to his salary.
