He's coming off a 2017 season in which he posted a solid .336 wOBA, with a particularly good .359 wOBA and a .191 isolated slugging (ISO) against right-handed pitching.

He'll likely be hitting leadoff tonight against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Kevin Gausman. Gausman allowed left-handed hitters a .350 wOBA and 4.92 xFIP in 2017, and this is a good spot for Gardner to bounce back from his slow start.
