Colin Moran, 3B, Pittsburgh Pirates

FanDuel Price: $2,600

On a four-game slate, there are only so many ways we can go, so we'll have to be a little riskier if we want to be contrarian.

While most of the attention will deservedly go to the New York Yankees against Andrew Cashner, the Pittsburgh Pirates are in a pretty good spot of their own against Homer Bailey. Bailey posted a very Cashner-esque line in 2017 -- a 5.19 SIERA, 16.0% strikeout rate, and 10.0% walk rate.

Colin Moran is probably still a relative unknown to most DFS players, but those in deep season-long leagues will recognize his name. Moran is a post-hype sleeper of sorts, as he was a first-round draft pick for the Miami Marlins in 2013 but didn't really show promise until 2017, when he slugged 18 homers in Triple-A and posted a .390 wOBA and .235 isolated power (ISO).

Now with the Pirates, Moran is getting his first shot at regular playing time. It remains to be seen how he'll perform as a big leaguer, but he did hit a grand slam on Monday. PNC Park favors pitchers, and Moran is likely to hit low in the order, so there's obvious downside here. But he's a cheap way to differentiate your lineup, and he has the platoon advantage against a weak pitcher the Pirates might be able to do damage against.
