Depending on what value emerges tonight, there's a chance that Chris Davis ends up garnering some ownership if he's batting leadoff. Davis is a classic boom-or-bust play, but he still possesses high-upside against righties due to his 43.7% hard-hit rate and 43.9% fly-ball rate in the split since 2015.

But opposing pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is one of the top arms on the board tonight, so that could sway people away from using a batter against their own pitcher. While that's normally a very wise move, it's worth considering it today when our options are limited.

Tanaka obviously makes for a tough matchup for Davis, but Tanaka is prone to long balls, with a career 16.0% home-run-to-fly-ball rate. It isn't inconceivable to see a scenario in which Tanaka performs well for you, while serving up a solo shot to Davis -- leaving both players with high scores.
