The Oakland Athletics are one of the more well-positioned offenses on today's short main slate, boasting the third-highest implied total (4.85) in a matchup with Doug Fister and the Texas Rangers.

Fister's 4.44 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) in 2017 was a fairly weak mark, and that wasn't much of a surprise after he finished with marks of 4.47 and 4.97 in 2015 and 2016, respectively. 2017 also saw him allow the highest hard-hit rate of his career, at 32.5%.

Last year, Jed Lowrie's batted-ball profile against right-handed pitching -- a 45.9% fly-ball rate, 13.2% soft-hit rate and 35.6% hard-hit rate -- was a thing of beauty. He turned that impressive profile into a .353 wOBA and .179 isolated slugging (ISO), and he shouldn't have much trouble taking advantage of this matchup with Fister.
