Fantasy Baseball: 5 Hitters Who Must Bounce Back After a Tough Second Half

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb followed a terrific first half with struggles in the second half. Which other hitters are looking to drop the negative vibes from a tough summer as they turn toward 2018?

There is no baseball player on the planet that wouldn't take a strong start to any season they're playing in. While gaining positive momentum is a wonderful thing, every ballplayer also knows that what appears to be a solid campaign can be soured in an instant by struggling to the finish line.

Those ground balls that were getting through the infield are now being caught, those long drives to the outfield are getting run down, and opposing pitchers are suddenly pulling all the right strings to send a hitter back to the dugout shaking his head. Baseball is hard enough to play when things are going well, but it can be awfully frustrating when you're in a funk.

The following five hitters all enjoyed a first half full of solid production. Unfortunately for them -- and the fantasy baseball owners sticking with them because of said production -- that momentum didn't carry over into the second half. The guys headed into the offseason with a sour taste in their mouth, and now they're hoping these struggles don't follow them into the 2018 season.
