Fantasy Baseball: 11 Players Who Disappointed in 2017
After a breakout campaign last year, Jonathan Villar couldn't live up to his lofty draft-day cost in 2017. Who else disappointed in fantasy baseball this season?

So much blood, sweat, and tears go into fantasy baseball draft-day prep. We spend our free time throughout the winter -- you know, when we're not managing our fantasy football teams -- trying to figure out which studs are the right ballplayers to trust and which sleepers could come out of nowhere to fortify what we're convinced will be an already solid squad.

But as we all know way too well, baseball can be unpredictable at times. And even if your team did go the distance, it probably didn't happen without a dud or two that had to be dealt with. This is the perfect time to reflect on the year that was so we can not only see who disappointed on the field when looking at their preseason average draft position (ADP), but also why they struggled in order to try and avoid the same scenario next season.

The following 11 players collectively underperformed one way or another with regard to those preseason expectations, likely leaving many fantasy owners a tad frustrated as to where they selected them in the draft, according to National Fantasy Baseball Championship (NFBC) data.
