3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 9/20/17
Alex Wood performed well in his last start, but his velocity remains down, making him a big risk in DFS tonight.

Alex Wood, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $9,400

Alex Wood performed well in his last start against the Washington Nationals, pitching six scoreless innings while striking out 8, good for 52 FanDuel points.

While that's certainly a promising sign for his tournament upside -- something he hasn't shown in a long time -- what's concerning is his velocity wasn't any better in this one. In fact, it was actually his lowest average velocity this season.

As Wood showed last week, he can still get punchouts with lower velocity, but this has been the exception and not the norm for him in the second half, where he's only put up an 18.7% strikeout rate. Particularly with an impressive Luke Weaver in the same price range, given Wood's velocity and limited pitch counts, he's a risky play tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies.
