3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 9/14/17
Justin Smoak has been scuffling a bit, but he will look to pop another long one against Jose Berrios tonight. Who else profiles as a quality sleeper play?

Justin Smoak, 1B, Toronto Blue Jays

FanDuel Price: $3,000

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Facing Seth Lugo of the New York Mets -- who has struggled this season with a 4.64 ERA and 35.4% hard-hit rate -- Anthony Rizzo is likely to be a popular option at first base tonight. Rizzo owns a .906 OPS with the platoon advantage this season.

With only two hits in his last 19 at-bats, Justin Smoak of the Toronto Blue Jays could see low ownership tonight.

Why You Should Use Him:

Slumping a bit lately, Smoak will try and get back on track, although he faces the stingy Jose Berrios.

Berrios has been solid this year (4.18 SIERA, 22.7% strikeout rate), but lefties have lit him up a bit. In 2017, opposite-handed hitters have rocked him for a 31.9% hard-hit rate, 41.5% fly-ball rate, and 1.45 home runs per nine innings pitched.

This year, Smoak has posted a 40.5% hard-hit rate and 44.5% fly-ball rate against righties, and will look to add to his 37-homer total tonight.
