Max Scherzer threw a pain-free bullpen session after dealing with some calf bruising last weekend, and he should be full-go tonight in a terrific matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Washington Nationals are massive favorites (-350 money line) while the Phillies, who rank 25th in wRC+ against right-handed pitching, have the day's lowest implied total (2.70). They also strike out at a top-five rate against righties.

Scherzer is in the midst of his third consecutive season with a strikeout rate north of 30.0%. His current rate of 35.1% that is good for second among qualifying pitchers, as does his 15.7% swinging-strike rate. He has at least nine strikeouts in each of his last eight healthy games, and he should have no trouble racking up another high total Friday.
