Kyle Gibson, SP, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $7,200

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

With a smaller slate on tap for tonight, Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers is sure to be a popular play after proving he's healthy last Friday with six scoreless innings in his return from the disabled list. Facing the Colorado Rockies at home, he is expensive at $12,000, but is likely to be worth every penny. Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians is the other ace to choose from, and he's a little cheaper at $11,600.

With a 5.33 ERA and 1.61 WHIP on the season, Kyle Gibson of the Minnesota Twins is probably going to see far less ownership.

Why You Should Use Him:

Hidden in those ugly season-long statistics is that Gibson has been quietly fantastic in recent turns on the mound. In his last three starts, Gibson has fired 19 2/3 innings, allowing only three earned runs and striking out 20 batters, recording quality starts and wins in each of those outings.

In broadening the sample a bit to Gibson's last six starts, he's recorded a double-digit swinging-strike rate in five of them, including a high-water mark of 18.7% against the Chicago White Sox three turns ago.

To save a bit and pivot off the Kershaw and Kluber owners, take a long look at Gibson against the Kansas City Royals this evening.
