Chris Sale got shelled the last time he took on the Cleveland Indians, but you shouldn't let that scare you off of him tonight.

That outing was the only one in his last 12 starts in which he didn't record at least 9 strikeouts, and he has punched out double-digit hitters in 8 of those 12.

His 2.51 SIERA is the best mark among qualifying pitchers by a wide margin, while he also leads the group with a 36.6% strikeout rate and ranks third with a 15.2% swinging strike rate.

Cleveland's not a gimme matchup, with their 104 wRC+ and 19.3% strikeout rate against southpaws, but those aren't elite marks, and Sale's nasty strikeout stuff leaves him as the day's top-projected pitcher, while the Cleveland's 3.18 implied total is Thursday's lowest mark.
