4 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 8/23/17
Slumping for most of 2017, Carlos Gonzalez has picked up the pace recently and has a good opportunity to keep it up on the road. Who else makes for a solid sleeper play?

Edwin Jackson, SP, Washington Nationals

FanDuel Price: $7,000

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Looking to bounce back from an early exit in his last start thanks to an ankle injury, Corey Kluber faces a tough matchup with the Boston Red Sox. But with all of that strikeout goodness of his, he could still see heavy ownership tonight. Ervin Santana, Luis Severino, Marcus Stroman and Rich Hill are also some slightly cheaper options that are in great spots Wednesday.

A man who has worn many different uniforms over the years, Edwin Jackson and his 42 innings in the big leagues this year probably won't get much attention.

Why You Should Use Him:

A team beset by injuries, the Washington Nationals have turned to the unlikeliest of sources for rotation help, and he's been brilliant so far.

Jackson's posted a 3.43 ERA over those 42 innings, and he's been aided by an impressive 27.2% soft-hit rate allowed. He's also recorded a 10.5% swinging-strike rate and brings all this into a matchup against the Houston Astros, who rank fourth-worst in baseball over the last 14 days with regard to team wOBA (.296).
