Madison Bumgarner, SP, San Francisco Giants

FanDuel Price: $10,300

Under normal circumstances, Madison Bumgarner versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at home would put him in the conversation as a cash-game play. However, since his return from the disabled list, his velocity hasn't been what it was in April, which has torpedoed his punchouts. In four starts since returning, he has just a 20.6% strikeout rate and 5.3% swinging-strike rate.

You might look at his last outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers, in which he struck out seven in seven innings and think it's a sign of progress, but he showed no noticeable increase in velocity and posted a below-average 8.1% swinging-strike rate.

As we saw with Alex Wood yesterday -- who has shown velocity issues of his own -- this might not necessarily result in a poor real-life game, as Wood only gave up one run in six innings. But he only struck out two -- a poor DFS result.

At a lower price point, you could throw Bumgarner in the tournament conversation because the Diamondbacks' active roster is striking out 24.7% of the time against lefties. But with Paxton, deGrom, and Darvish all in the same range, it's tough to foresee Bumgarner performing better than all three at his present form.
