Chris Taylor, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $3,900

Ultimately, I take the "L" for calling to fade Chris Taylor last night, who cruised to 37.6 fantasy points. Whoops. Taylor was too expensive, but admittedly a big game was always possible batting leadoff against a lefty with a high implied team total. Tonight, the Los Angeles Dodgers could be at it again, getting 4.95 implied runs.

But before you think about going back to the well, Taylor is even more expensive tonight, and lacks the platoon advantage against Mike Foltynewicz. The latter point is particularly important because while Taylor has some nice numbers against southpaws, they drop off against righties. At first glance this might not appear to be the case given a 35.1% hard-hit rate and .354 wOBA against them, but his expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) slips to just .316. Furthermore, he strikes out at an alarming 29.0% rate against same-side hurlers.

Foltynewicz is hardly a cake-walk against right-handed bats either. Since the start of 2016, he has allowed just a 24.6% hard-hit rate with a 21.4% strikeout rate.

Priced around the same price as star teammates Corey Seager, Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger, the asking price is just too much for Taylor, regardless of last night's performance.
