4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 7/18/17

Michael Wacha is coming off two strong performances, but can we trust him in DFS tonight?

Clayton Kershaw ($12,700) graces us with his presence this evening, and as always, he's your safest play. Sure, the Chicago White Sox have been feisty against southpaws this season, but are you really taking their side against Kershaw and his 2.88 SIERA? They have by far the lowest implied team total on the slate (3.19). Even with a game at Coors Field, none of the secondary pitching options come close enough to warrant straying from Kershaw in cash games.

But should you want some savings in tournaments, Robbie Ray ($10,400), Brad Peacock ($9,200) and Mike Clevinger ($8,500) all have punchout upside. In particular, Clevinger is intriguing due to his price and matchup against the San Francisco Giants. The Giants' active roster only strikes out 18.6% of the time versus righties, but don't walk much -- Clevinger's main issue -- and have just a 29.2% hard-hit rate.

We're littered with high implied team totals, so we certainly have our work cut out for us. Let's check out four guys to considering avoiding in tonight's contests.
