4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/14/17
Francisco Liriano had lots of tournament appeal last year, but he isn't worth the risk in 2017. Who else should you avoid tonight in DFS?

Francisco Liriano, SP, Toronto Blue Jays

FanDuel Price: $7,300

Last year, Francisco Liriano was the quintessential high-risk, high-reward GPP play. But in 2017, he's shown scant little of that upside. He still has an above average 22.0% strikeout rate, but he's only hit 40 FanDuel points twice this season, both in April.

Still, you may find yourself drawn to him tonight -- on a slate with little in the way of pitching value plays -- against the strikeout-prone Tampa Bay Rays. Against southpaws, the Rays' active roster is striking out 24.4% of the time, and they have just a 93 wRC+. That's all well and good, but the bad news is they also walk at a 10.5% rate, which doesn't mesh well with Liriano's 14.3% walk rate.

All those free passes haven't let him pitch deep into games, either. Liriano last made it through at least six innings on April 13th, the only time all season. Combine that with a lackluster 5.06 SIERA and 36.0% hard-hit rate, and he's nothing more than a multi-entry dart throw tonight.
