4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/13/17

David Price is hard to trust in DFS tonight, despite a nice matchup against the Phillies. Who else should you fade?

Yesterday, Stephen Strasburg was the favorite cash game play, but as we saw from how things turned out, hot and humid conditions can change things in a hurry, as he was lit up for six runs in just five innings. Luckily, he still managed 10 strikeouts to salvage some of his night, and was probably still the right play, but as always we must be wary of the weather.

Clayton Kershaw ($12,500) takes the mound tonight, and although it will be humid, he looks to have better conditions against the Cleveland Indians, and benefits from, well, being Kershaw. Although the Indians only strike out 17.7% of the time against lefties, they have just an 86 wRC+, making Kershaw the safest play of the day.

There are plenty of other ways to go, though, particularly in GPPs. Zack Greinke ($10,600) comes in at a sizable discount compared to Kershaw, despite putting up very similar numbers with a 3.03 SIERA and 30.0% strikeout rate. He gets a riskier matchup with the Detroit Tigers and the wind blowing out, but could rack up the punchouts.

Other guys with upside include the improving Jimmy Nelson ($8,900), or Marco Estrada ($8,500), who gets a powerful, but whiff-prone Tampa Bay Rays team. You could also dip lower for some value in Brad Peacock ($7,000) or Buck Farmer ($6,700), who both have over a 33% strikeout rate in limited starts.
