Michael Pineda, SP, New York Yankees

FanDuel Price: $8,200

Well, the call to fade Yu Darvish didn't exactly work out yesterday, but let's try this again. I present to you the enigma that is Michael Pineda.

As all fantasy owners know, whether in season-long or DFS, Pineda is maddening to own, with inconsistent results surrounded by consistently strong peripherals.

Returns have been a little better in 2017, as his 3.76 ERA isn't far off his 3.44 SIERA. Still, he's hit 40 FanDuel points just once in his past six starts, including a 3-point clunker his last time out against the Toronto Blue Jays. Despite his 25.1% strikeout rate and 13.6% swinging-strike rate, he doesn't usually pitch deep into games.

To make matters worse, the Boston Red Sox are in town, and with them, they bring a league-best 17.7% strikeout rate.

Pineda can give you some savings in a GPP, but it's hard to see him giving you a GPP-winning ceiling tonight.
