Why He Will Go Overlooked:
While the early slate has a monster matchup between Stephen Strasburg and Clayton Kershaw, there's also some decent main slate options available this evening. Dallas Keuchel, Yu Darvish, Max Scherzer, and Rick Porcello are all expensive options that should see a pile of ownership.
One option that is sure to fly under the radar is New York Mets starter Zack Wheeler. He'll face a Texas Rangers squad that currently sports one of the highest implied team totals of the day at 5.21 runs.
Why You Should Use Him:
Wheeler's 2017 has been a little bumpy, which was to be expected after not pitching in a big league regular season game since 2014.
Over 55 2/3 innings pitched, Wheeler's posted a 4.26 SIERA and a 36.4% hard-hit rate, which isn't anything worth writing home about, but his strikeout rate is a respectable 21.4% while generating a pile of ground balls (49.4%).
Wheeler also has a major advantage in facing the Rangers -- despite their large implied team total, Texas has recorded a 29.4% strikeout rate and a team wOBA of just .306 over the last two weeks.
