4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/30/17

Following a drop in the batting order, Jonathan Villar's value takes a big hit in DFS. Who else should you avoid tonight?

Tonight, Chris Sale ($11,700) is your top hurler on the mound, and is a near must-play in cash, with a game in Coors Field standing as the only reason to consider otherwise.

Sale leads all qualified starters in SIERA (2.31), strikeout rate (36.7%), and swinging-strike rate (16.1%). He was disappointing in his last outing against the Texas Rangers, but had an eight-game streak of 10-plus strikeouts prior to that.

He takes a stroll down Narrative Street this evening, going up against his former Chicago White Sox teammates, who have been stingy against lefties, with a 129 wRC+ and 17.2% strikeout rate. But with a 3.29 implied team total, that shouldn't scare you off.

Outside of Sale, we get Robbie Ray ($9,400), Luis Severino ($9,200), and Jeff Samardzija ($8,900) as viable alternatives. Jose Berrios ($8,600) has emerged as an exciting option, but a matchup against the Houston Astros increases his risk.

If you're feeling #YOLO, Dinelson Lamet ($6,000) struck out eight New York Mets in his major league debut, and gets the Chicago Cubs at home tonight.

Hitting-wise, the Colorado Rockies get fly-ball pitcher Ariel Miranda in Coors, while the visiting Seattle Mariners have a tougher task against Tyler Anderson, who has a 32.0% strikeout rate and 58.9% ground-ball rate in May.

Other spots to look are the Toronto Blue Jays against Asher Wojciechowski, who's making his first major league start since 2015, and a hot day in Texas for the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers.

Now let's check out four guys to avoid tonight.
