4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/19/17

Zack Cozart gets a tougher matchup than you might expect against Tyler Anderson tonight. Who else should you avoid in MLB DFS contests?

Well, I somehow managed to go 0-for-3 with avoid calls yesterday, with Danny Duffy, Yasiel Puig, and Jose Bautista all having big performances. Two even made last night's FanDuel perfect lineup.

Welp.

Trust the process, right? Let's see if we can do better today.

Tonight, in cash it doesn't get much simpler than putting Chris Sale ($12,000) in your lineup and moving on. The dude has been a beast this season with a 2.18 SIERA and 38.8% strikeout rate, and he gets an Oakland Athletics team that strikes out 23.7% of the time against lefties. Don't overthink this one.

In tournaments, though, the list widens, as there are plenty of other guys oozing with strikeout upside, like Jacob deGrom ($10,400), Luis Severino ($9,200), Alex Wood ($8,900), Charlie Morton ($8,300), and Nate Karns ($8,200). Even Taijuan Walker ($7,600) is worth a GPP flyer against the San Diego Padres, who he dropped 61 FanDuel points on towards the end of April.

On a packed slate, we have plenty of ways to go for hitting, but some places to look include the Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks, who all get cushy matchups against pitchers with low strikeout rates.

Alright, let's try to go 4-for-4 tonight! Here are four guys to keep out of your lineups.
