3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 5/18/17
Facing the struggling Julio Teheran, Ezequiel Carrera is primed for a big night. Who else makes for a great sleeper play for Thursday's MLB DFS contests?

Leury Garcia, OF, Chicago White Sox

FanDuel Price: $2,900

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Leury Garcia of the Chicago White Sox will play in a road tilt at Safeco, and Seattle Mariners outfielders should see high ownership -- they're projected for one of the highest implied team total on the main slate (4.66 runs).

Garcia, meanwhile, is a bit of an unknown commodity. He didn't have much experience in the big leagues coming into 2017, and the experience he did have wasn't good. Couple that with his team's low implied total (3.84 runs), and he shouldn't be on many radars.

Why You Should Use Him:

There are a few positive factors in Garcia's favor, and the first is his spot in the lineup -- he's been Chicago's leadoff hitter recently, where he's posted six-plus FanDuel points in each of his last five contests.

Garcia and crew will square off against Sam Gaviglio, who doesn't have much of a track record at the big-league level. If we look at his minor league stats, though, they are less than impressive. In two stops at Double-A and Triple-A in 2016 ( over 165 innings pitched), Gaviglio recorded strikeout rates of 17.3% and 19.3%, respectively. He also hasn't posted a FIP at any stop under 3.30 since the 2014 season.

Gaviglio's fastball this season averages 89.4 miles per hour, so Chicago is unlikely to get blown away by some serious heat. Facing a relatively unproven commodity that doesn't exactly have sparkling minor league numbers, Garcia is in a great spot for some solid production.
