3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/15/17

Jean Segura's price is on the rise, and it's reaching the point where it's tough to use him in MLB DFS. Who else should you avoid tonight?

We're kicking off the week with the quite the doozy at pitcher tonight on FanDuel! There isn't anyone remotely close to the term "ace," and chances are, no matter who you choose, you aren't going to be terribly thrilled with it.

The nearest thing to a safe choice this evening may be Luis Perdomo ($6,600) one of the night's cheaper options. And cheap might not be a bad way to go, given the dearth of pitching options.

It may surprise you to learn that through five starts, Perdomo has a 3.26 SIERA, 21.0% strikeout rate, 69.5% ground-ball rate, and 20.7% hard-hit rate, not too shabby for a relative no-name. He also gets a plus matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers (25.4% strikeout rate vs. righties) at Petco Park.

Outside of Perdomo, Zack Godley ($7,500) has a 2.93 SIERA and 26.7% strikeout rate, but in a small two-start sample size this year. And while hardly exciting on their own, Brandon McCarthy ($8,700), Chase Anderson ($8,500), and Jesse Chavez ($7,200) all have solid matchups in pitcher-friendly ballparks. I told you that you wouldn't be thrilled!

On the bright side, with pitching being so light, it won't be hard to fit in some elite bats. Potential attack targets include Bartolo Colon (38.5% hard-hit rate), Mike Pelfrey (5.99 SIERA), Yovani Gallardo (15.8% strikeout rate), and Matt Cain (5.00 SIERA).

Let's check in on a few guys we can cross off our lists.
