4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/8/17
Billy Hamilton stole nine bases last week, but the price of admission is getting too steep. Who else should you be avoiding in Monday's MLB DFS contests?

Masahiro Tanaka, SP, New York Yankees

FanDuel Price: $9,300

Masahiro Tanaka is the third-most expensive pitcher on the slate, and despite a lackluster 17.0% strikeout rate, his 12.1% swinging-strike indicates that better days are ahead. He has two 46.0-point FanDuel games, so he's already shown some upside this season.

Still, at his high salary and with Carlos Martinez right next to him in price, he's a tough sell even as a contrarian play. His opponent, the Cincinnati Reds, don't provide a strikeout advantage for righties (20.3% rate), and are above average in wRC+ (104). The game is also being played in noted hitters haven, Great American "Small" Park.

A ceiling performance simply doesn't look likely for Tanaka given the situation.
