5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/5/17
Adam Jones hasn't had a special start to his season, but he's in a great spot tonight for the Orioles.

Jason Kipnis, 2B, Cleveland Indians

FanDuel Price: $2,800

Kansas City Royals righty Jason Hammel had a down year in 2016, posting a 4.28 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), and the 34-year-old hasn't shown any kind of improvement through five starts in 2017 with a 5.16 SIERA and a career-worst 12.0% walk rate.

He's allowing a .343 wOBA to left-handed hitters with an especially ugly 6.52 xFIP, and that makes this a particularly good matchup for Jason Kipnis.

Kipnis' production can't be described as much more than "ugly" to start the season, but it's hard to draw too much of a conclusion from 41 plate appearances, especially with nearly half of those (19) having come against left-handed pitching. He's coming off of a 2016 season that saw him tag righties for a .353 wOBA with a strong 38.9% hard-hit rate and 41.0% fly-ball rate, and he's cheap enough that you can afford to look past his 2017 struggles tonight, especially with such a good matchup.
