3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/4/17

Kole Calhoun has homered in three straight games, but don't expect him to make it four as he takes on a lefty. Who else should you avoid on tonight's small slate?

It's a small Thursday main slate, with only five games for us to dabble in. As is often the case with small slates, the pitching options are decidedly lacking, so it's probably best to sway towards tournaments over cash tonight.

You know things are dire when Adam Wainwright ($8,000) is one of the top options, but the opposing Milwaukee Brewers have the lowest implied team total of the evening (3.44), and the Brew Crew has a 25.7% strikeout rate and 89 wRC+ against righties. For his part, despite a scary 6.12 ERA, Wainwright has a palatable 3.60 SIERA and 22% strikeout rate.

His 36.5% hard-hit rate is concerning, though, so don't be afraid to take a shot at someone like Dan Straily ($8,300) instead, who has a surprising 27.4% strikeout rate and is facing the strikeout-prone Tampa Bay Rays.

Hitting is a little easier with both Kyle Kendrick and Tyler Wilson looking like some easy pickings in Fenway. Stacking this game will be extremely popular, so don't be afraid to piecemeal your favorite spots across all five games to differentiate yourself.

Now onto the task at hand, and highlighting some names to ignore tonight.
