4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/2/17
Danny Duffy and his deceptive 2.81 ERA don't make the cut in daily fantasy today. Who else should you avoid?

Danny Duffy, SP, Kansas City Royals

FanDuel Price: $8,900

I might as well copy and paste what I wrote last week when southpaw Danny Duffy faced off against this very same Chicago White Sox team. In that start, Duffy got knocked around for 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings with just 2 strikeouts.

A sparkling 2.81 ERA hides a concerning 4.64 SIERA and 18.6% strikeout rate, which is down from last year's career-high 25.7%. The lack of strikeouts can be explained by a decrease in velocity this year, and yet he still has a strong 13.0% swinging-strike rate, which theoretically means he should be getting more.

Still, the White Sox can roll out a lineup entirely made of right-handed bats, and Duffy gave up hard contact 38.6% of the time against righties last year. The White Sox have a 125 wRC+ and 16.0% strikeout rate against lefty pitchers this season.

Priced next to the aforementioned Paxton and Martinez, Duffy gets a big "no" tonight.
