Kenta Maeda, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $7,800

The Philadelphia Phillies have one of the lowest implied team totals of the day (3.24) against Kenta Maeda. In theory, that would mean Maeda makes for a good value play. Last season, he had a solid 3.69 SIERA and 25% strikeout rate.

The trouble is that Maeda has struggled so far this year. His ERA sits at an ugly 8.05, and he hasn't been getting strikeouts at as high a rate (22.4%).

A 3.98 SIERA indicates he hasn't been as bad as the ERA looks, and a 14.7% swinging-strike rate suggests the strikeouts should climb back up.

But even if you believe he'll start turning things around tonight, Maeda's other issue is he doesn't pitch deep into games. He's gone five innings or fewer in all four of his starts this year. The chance of getting the FanDuel quality start bonus is low.

In all, with several high-upside aces on the mound, even at his low price, Maeda isn't a strong option.
