Johnny Cueto, SP, San Francisco Giants

FanDuel Price: $9,600

Admittedly, Johnny Cueto is a fairly "safe" play.

He often pitches deep into games, so he has a good shot at the quality start bonus, and he's in run-suppressing AT&T Park tonight with the Los Angeles Dodgers having just a 3.57 implied team total against him.

But he doesn't have the same strikeout upside as other pricey hurlers like Lester or Paxton. Sure, he could get there -- he has FanDuel scores of 46 and 43 this year -- but both of those outings required win and quality start bonuses to get there.

He has a 18.1% strikeout rate on the season, which down from last year's 22.5%. Even if he gets it back up, that's not what you're looking for at more than $9,000.

Also, it's not like the Dodgers are a bunch of slouches. They have a 118 wRC+ against righties so far this year.

You could consider using Cueto on a different slate, but you can do better tonight.
