Cole Hamels, SP, Texas Rangers

Although Cole Hamels has been one of the most consistent starters in the league for years, he's beginning to look long in the tooth these days. Now 33 years old, he showed some chinks in the armor last season with an elevated 9.1% walk rate. So far this year, it looks like his strikeout prowess may be going, too.

Through four starts, he has a 13.5% strikeout rate and 8.7% walk rate. And before you scream small sample size, his swinging-strike rate is 7.9%. His ERA remains a sparkling 2.77, but a 4.93 SIERA and .203 BABIP say otherwise.

Yes, the season is young, and maybe he can get back to doing Cole Hamels things again, but at his high price, there's no reason to go here until he proves he's still a high-level arm.
