3 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 4/13/17
Coming off a rough first start, Robert Gsellman could be primed for a big night in a matchup with Miami. Which other players could fly under the radar?

Robert Gsellman, SP, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $7,300

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Two studs presume to dominate the DFS main slate today, and they'll lock horns in the same contest. Madison Bumgarner and Jon Gray are set to duel at AT&T Park and will more than likely see very high ownership.

One decent play who may not be so obvious is New York Mets hurler Robert Gsellman, who struggled mightily in his 2017 debut. Gsellman, who won a rotation spot late for the Mets, lost 8-1 to the Miami Marlins and allowed three runs and allowed three runs and eight baserunners in five innings in that season-opening outing.

Why You Should Use Him:

Gsellman's first start wasn't all bad -- over his 5 innings, he generated 10 swings and misses on his way to 7 strikeouts on the day. He'll face those same Marlins this time out, a team that owns the 12th-highest in strikeout rate at 22.6%.

Gsellman flashed some promising stuff at the end of last season. In 44 2/3 innings pitched in 2016, he showed the ability to limit hard contact, allowing a meager 23.3% fly-ball rate and 28.3% hard-hit rate.

Another factor working in Gsellman's favor is the site of tonight's start -- over the past three seasons, Marlins Park ranks 29th in home run factor.

All of this could lead to a good start for the Mets' righty, and he's the eighth-most expensive pitcher on the slate (out of 12 hurlers).
